The Sheep Still Wonder

These are 2 stones of the Castlerigg Stone Circle. It is now surrounded by sheep, and a rock fence. Having a strange imagination I wonder if the sheep do any thing in the circle at winter solstice. TTFN BJ

Stone House Stone Walls

Yea many moons ago some king told everybody that they had to fence in their property, so he could tax it better. The only thing that they had a lot of was stones. All the fences are stone they've been standing for hundreds of years and are still there. It is fantastic. I fell in love with the stone fences. TTFN BJ

Expensive

This is some of the most expensive property in England. Lake front property. There is one rich family that has quite a bit of it. TTFN BJ

For the Boat

A stone boat house, that's probably one thing you won't see in the US. TTFN BJ

Under a British Flag

As my sister and I were on the boat on Lake Windermere , she observed that the last time our ancestors had sailed under a British flag they were sailing to America. TTFN BJ

The Road

Wonderful narrow roads with a sidewalk on one side. This was the road to where we stayed. TTFN BJ

Rock Up the Walls

This beautiful stone work is the side of a church. I guess that's why a lot of the old English buildings are still standing. TTFN BJ

Mossy Cross

Lots of Celtic Crosses, moss covered of course. They are so cool. TTFN BJ

Theses adorable little boats are for kids to use with the parent riding next to them. Mini boats. TTFN BJ

The Weather

There are 2 types of weather in England. 1- It's raining. 2 It's not raining yet. This is kind-of fun for a someone who doesn't get a lot of rain, and it makes for great flower shots. TTFN BJ

Open Spaces

After Edinburgh the Lake District is beautifully wide open. TTFN BJ

Squished

This is a half a block of flats. They route all the chimney's so they come out at the same spot on the roof. You can see them all in a row. Everything is built up because there isn't much space in the city. From the squished to the open spaces. The next area is the Lake District in England. TTFN BJ

Backyards

This is what the back side of a little church looks like. Complete with it's own little grave yard. TTFN BJ

Almost Finished

This was supposed to be an amphitheater. In the 1700's they started to build it on top of this hill, but they ran out of money so this is all that was done. It's not getting any doner. TTFN BJ

One of Many

This monument is to Lord Nielson. They have a lot of monuments to a lot of famous Scotsmen and Scotswomen in Edinburgh. I think there are a few more monuments to men than women. TTFN BJ

Bling

Early spring does bring out bright colors. TTFN BJ

Very Gothic especially the trees. TTFN BJ

A fabulous lawn. The likes of which will never be seen around my house. TTFN BJ

Tiny Cross

If you look in the tower there is a tiny cross window showing through. Still an abby even if it's a ruin. TTFN BJ

This is Scotland's version of arches. If you're from Utah you'll know what I mean. TTFN BJ

The art of flying buttress. With these they could build higher in stone than ever before. TTFN BJ

I'm still fascinated at the fine stone work for the windows. TTFN BJ
